we have dental for many years and rarely used. went to dentist this year and had to pay entire cost because delta said we had no coverage.

after many phone calls delta said it was paper mistake. i was never reimbursed. 2nd dental visit cost 1410.00 for root canal. that was in april.

its now middle sept and they havent paid.

I had to once again pay rntire bill out of pocket. horrible insurance co.

I thought I read that the Basic Delta Dental plan does not cover most dental procedures. They cover maintenance procedures like fillings X-rays, and other dental care procedures that are preventative only.

I am due for an extraction in 2 days and got my card yesterday. My plan doesn’t cover dentures nor extractions. I also have Medicaid and was told that if I qualify for Medicaid then my extractions and dentures will be covered under .Medicaid. Why do I need Delta Dental then?

Mine is considered an advantage plan. A rotten plan. All advantage plans are junk plans that you pay through the nose per month plus a deductible and co-pays. They are a for profit plan.

Get ready folks, this is what the House of Representatives is shooting for. They want you to pay for most dental procedures and I don’t believe they cover pre-existing conditions. Between your monthly premium payment you also have a co-pay and a deductible. It’s all profit based.

I asked my dental plan if my extraction was covered and they said “no”. I asked if they will cover my dentures and they said “no”. Good thing I qualified for Medicare and Medicaid because Medicaid covered dentures and extractions. I was doing fine for years and out of nowhere I get hit with this.

What a waste. It only helps the insurance companies from having to cover dental other than maintenance costs. A dollar saving plan for insurers. No deal here.

You have to pay the price for maintenance procedures that are preventative only. Forget extractions and dentures and posibly root canals.

Absolutely horrible

Made 1 st appt. showed up got checked out and given a game plan. Told I needed 50 percent down. Gave the gal 500.00 cash and said would bring more the following day when I come in for an extraction.. the next day paid 10,000. And got the tooth pulled. Few days later they call to say they cant do anything for me.. when clarifying how much to be returned they claim I never paid the 500 cash and will return 9000.00 1500 for an extraction plus Im out the taxes on withdrawing the balance from 401. Called corporate. Was told theyd get back to me in 24 hrs.. hasnt happened

Horrible Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Original review May 07, 2021

I'm a new customer, my coverage starts June 3, 2021, they took my monthly payment when I purchased my plan and I received an email that they would send me a link to register my account online. I never received it, so I called, 8 different times and finally spoke to someone and got it.

Furthermore, I started to register my account and another message was displayed and said we will send you a link to complete your registration, never received it. The only thing I receive daily is Welcome to Delta Dental, Login to review your account, set up your profile, payment method, etc. Every day, I receive an email with an invoice attached. I've sent emails to every person listed in Contact Us, not one has ever been answered.

Forgot about calling them, if you get a live person they don't speak good English, loud background noise and if your question is too difficult for them to solve, they simply hang up on you. How can you do business with them when you can't even register your account and set up my profile, payments, etc. I should have paid attention to the reviews online and my Dentist suggestion. She is recommended not to purchase dental coverage through them.

In closing, don't purchase a plan with Useless Delta Dental. She is not very fond of Delta Dental.

Pros:
  • Ok basic care - minimal
Cons:
  • Horrible company to try to contact

  • Very seldom do they answer the phone

User's recommendation: Don't Ever Buy a Dental Plan With Them.

This issue was resolved by a smart Woman who spoke English that answered my phone call immediately. It took her 2 minutes to correct their computer error. To this date, no higher level Managers that I emailed has responded.

Anger

I didn't like the overall treatment I received from Delta Dental from the extra long membership number to the extremely low coverage payouts. They wouldn't let me cancel my membership over the phone, I couldn't find the cancellation page on their website and I looked thoroughly. I have the reverse the charges on my credit card for the last couple of months. They say they are sending me a paper form to cancel my membership and then it never comes. When I called I confronted them and when I asked to speak to a supervisor they hung up on me and I hadn't used any bad language although I was insistent however. I have never been less satisfied with a service in Forget about Delta Dentalmy my life.

I reached out to my dentist of record. Multiple calls, no one answered, no one called back. I found another in-network dentist, but changes only allowed on the 1st of the next month. Requested Delta Customer Service make change effective immediately. Request denied - "NO EXCEPTIONS" Flatly denied. Buerractats

Refund for a deseased person

My husband purchased a plan for himself and myself for 1 year. He passed away 3 weeks later and never used it. I find out from the BBB you have a clause letting you keep his money for doing nothing. Shame on you for keeping a widow's money. Second, your reps tell me I don't even have a policy. I have been trying to get an appointment at Katsur Dental since mid Sept. nobody answers or calls back. I have 2 broken teeth from a fall that need fixed. So the BBB notified me I am entitled to my money back, because I have been denied service. So you will be getting that complaint soon. You run one *** of a business. I will be posting this, telling everyone I know. You gonna great some great publicity.

Delta Dental is a series of unrelated companies

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I moved from Iowa to Texas and was told I needed a Texas Delta Dental policy. I thought I was transferring my policy to Texas but found out I have a waiting period even though I have been insured since 2015. The people I talked to on the phone at both companies left me with the impression that I would be covered without a waiting period. Delta Dental advertises "No waiting period" If I had known I was buying a new policy with a new company, I would have chosen a different company.

I feel your pain. They do not play by the rules.

Not only do I have a waiting period-but 6 months is not six months-it is 186 days a year is not a year it is 372 days.

They use a 31 day month for there calculation and nowhere in their contract is it stated. Not as advertised.

Delta Dental Keep Helping my money from my bank even if after my membership was cancelled

I filled an application on Sept. 8, 2019 with a dental plan with Delta Dental for me and my husband. I paid my first month premium with a check. They refused my check and mailed it back to me reason the stated that they only accept payment electronically. I then called their customer service and cancelled my membership. That was on the 1st week of Oct. 2019. Without my knowledge and without my authorization, Delta Dental have helped themselves by taking $96.40 from my bank started Oct.2019 till Feb. 2020 even though I have already cancelled.. $482.00 taken from bank without my permission. When I called them to asked for a refund. They refused: their reason, that I did not cancel my application in writing.(which I have no knowledge of their policy) I did not provide any information about my debit card, but they have been withdrawing money from that account. I think I have been scam
