Website sux

Their website has more security than Fort Knox, and you still can't get into it to see anything. Then they direct you to call customer service. So I do that and listen to several options choose 1, same thing - choose 1, then get told their office is closed. If it's closed tell me that RIGHT AWAY!! Had to enter this twice because "you must enter at least 100 words" {{Redacted}}

Delay and Deny.Delay and Deny.Delay and Deny.Call your state insurance commission. The state insurance commission will investigate and fine them. That is where your monthly premium will go - in fines to Delta Dental. You will not get dental care.Their company name needs to be changed to "Delay and Deny Dental"

All I can say is Delta dental read your reviews for the public that pays you including myself. This company raises rates constantly, horrible customer service.

People write in for a reason, that being to warn others. Not saying other dental insurance companies are any better. There are also hair raising experiences with many other carrier.

It's not right for these issues to be ignored and unresolved. That's our medical system!

Terrible service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Delta has one of the poorest customer services of any company that I ever dealt with. More importantly, they are well known for not paying legitimate claims. That has happened to me. Their policy is to stonewall on claims in the hope that the claimant will go away. My interaction with the company raises a question as to whether they are a corrupt organization masquerading as a legitimate business. I would not recommend them to anyone. It seems strange that they can continue to attract customers when their service and record of payments is so poor. I raised this issue with the Better Business Bureau in Atlanta but was told that this was not within the purview of that organization.

Plan signed up for was changed to a sorry plan

I signed up for a dental plan and paid $66 a month for a year, which I understood would not pay for major dental work the first year. I was out a lot of money at the end of the first year due to unexpected problems with my teeth. Then when that year was up, we were notified we would be changed to a different plan which was comparable to the one we had (at a reduced cost). Sounded great, right? Well, not so great - the maximum benefit on the previous plan was $3000, and I just learned that the new plan's maximum is $1000 which I have already met for the year. So, I paid $66 a month the first year, which was a complete waste of money. I was better off (financially) without dental insurance

Delta Dental? Save Your Money

Here's the deal: they suck and they couldn't care less about customer service if they tried. Here's my story: I chose a dentist from their plan and went to him in good faith. He said I had a pocket between my tooth and gum and that I needed a root canal. He performed the service improperly (unbeknownst to me at the time). After several months' worth of billing issues with this knucklehead I switched to a new dentist. He x-rayed the tooth in question and found that not only did I need another root canal, but the crown wasn't fitted properly. Delta Dental denied the claim, saying that they only cover a crown every 5 years. As per the Delta Dental "customer service" rep's advice I disputed the denial and requested that Delta Dental go after the first dentist to recoup OUR monies and get this tooth handled properly. They took a look at this improperly fitted crown sitting on top of a still-infected tooth and decided that somehow this was my fault. So my dentist sends them information detailing the improper care . . . I send them a certified letter explaining that the tooth doesn't fit right and is causing problems when I chew . . . and they decide to let their buddy keep the money. They don't care about me or my dental health. Only the premiums. I'm paying $100/month for a dental company that not only keeps *** dentists on their plan, but also fails to support their paying customers. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT OPEN ENROLLMENT TO KICK THIS BUNCH OF WORTHLESS MONEY-GRUBBERS TO THE CURB.

I have always found dental insurance to be rather worthless. You really don't get much for your premiums.

Best to just save your money and when you have a problem, go to your own dentist in private practice---never one of the dental mills---and pay for whatever you need done.

You will come out ahead overall. A root canal and a new crown only costs something like two grand if both are done.

Delta Dental - Health Plan Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am a Delta Dental client. I have received multiple letters claiming I owe unpaid premium payments.

I called and spoke with a rep and emailed a screenshot of my bank statement showing all premium payments have been made. The following month I get another letter claiming I owe an additional payments. I was placed on an EXTENDED hold.

When a rep finally answered and asked for my name and account number (again) and then disconnected our call. Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time.

You pay for their insurance and then when it's time for them to pay what the benefits say you should have then make up a reason not to pay. They paid only $500 of the $1000 orthodontic benefit saying they only pay half of it upon the service being rendered then they pay half a year later.

So therefore, if you have changed jobs and don't have the insurance anymore they don't pay the other $500 even though the service was done while you had the insurance. TOTAL RIPOFF

I am investigating Delta Dental. I am a author and journalist.

They will be exposed. They are thieves and criminals.

Extreme run around for simple questions. Very limited providers

I have been under Delta Dental coverage for over a year. I was unaware my automatic payment needed to be renewed. Nor, did I receive a notice. After talking to three different people at customer service, for a simple question! They had me repeat the same information they requested before hand, on a recording and than the series of questions again, and again when transfers took place. After the long process I find out I no longer had coverage I was told I needed to contact Delta Dental if I wanted to reinstate my policy..What? Who was I talking to? I was simply trying to find providers. Nobody accepts this insurance!!! The two I found that took the insurance and I live in a large city in Florida were not taking new patients.

Customer service agent was very rude! I called for a dental claim form and the agent was talking so fast.

She must've been in a hurry to go back to doing her nails or something. She could have offered to send a form in the mail. Instead, she didn't ask if I was ready with a pen and paper to write the internet address and it was all downhill from there with her talking faster and faster and more with more tone and frustration. She just kept repeating herself, but I told her I was still reaching for the pen.

Lord, I pray this woman gets some help and peace in her life to hopefully prevent others from experiencing her rudeness! In Jesus name Amen.

Re: dental insurance---save your money. I have never seen a plan worth the money you pay, ie., limited coverage; deductibles; few dentists will participate; and the yearly limit on coverage is rather small.

Worst Insurance company ever to deal with!!!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
As I am writing this I have been on hold now for 1 hr and 3 mins. I am with an orthodontic office and this will be the 10th time I have tried to get paid on an orthodontic claim we submitted 2 1/2 YEARS ago!! I get transferred at least twice that would be another 20 to 30 mins of my time! Every time I get all claims submitted to expedited VP approval. They have told me every time that they have all the information they need to have this claim paid. But after two years of calling we still have not been paid. I have dealt with insurance companies for 30 years and Delta Dental is the worst EVER. I am still on hold!!

S-l-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-w Payment & Dead Back Office

I submitted a change of address in May last year. My dentist submitted a claim in June. They sent a check to the old address in July. I asked them to cancel and resend... in July...in August...in September. Once they said "that issue is in the Finance Department. We can't do anything about that. Two other times, they said a new check would go out within a week. In October, I found a supervisor and read to her the complaint I was about to send to the State of Massachusetts. I got my check three days later. They are excellent...maybe superior... at collecting... At paying, not so good...

What a rip off

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
After submitting bills for a check up and cleaning which they refused to pay I decided to cancel. After a verbal confirmation they kept billing my card. After submitting numerous emails and several calls Its finally cancelled. They managed to squeeze 2 more payments out of me. WORST COMPANY EVER. Make sure you ask alot of questions about the so called spend down. It means they dont pat ANYTHING until you not only pay your premiums but all the bills I submitted. What a total waste of money. I could pay all my own bills for less than the premiums. And dont get me started about trying to find a dentist that is on their Premium list. No customer service at all.

Delta Care USA is a total rip off

So my employer switched us over to Delta Care this year. Delta care apparently does not accept my old dentist whom I saw through With Delta Dental.

TELL ME WHY DID THEY CHANGE KEEP CALLING IT DELTA if it is not associated with DELTA DENTAL. THEY SHOULD SEND US A LETTER INFORMING THOSE WHOM DENTIST THEY ARE UNWILLING TO PAY FOR, AND TELLING US WHO WE NOW SEE. THIS FEELS LIKE I LIVE IN A COMMUNIST STATE (i.e. A PLACE WITHOUT CHOICES).

THANKS AGAIN OBAMACARE!!! I HATE YOU!!!

WHAT A COMPLETE RIPOFF.

I agree that Delta Care USA is a rip-off, but don't blame Obama Care. I have Kaiser Senior Advantage, and Delta Care USA is included.

The reason your dentist is not on the plan is that no self-respecting dentist would belong to this plan because the reimbursement is so low!

The dentists who belong are incompetent. I know, I tried them.

PPO Dentist

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

During sales call which Delta Dental records, they confirmed Dr. Katherine Raymond accepted their maximum contract amount aka their PPO plan.

Not until after service done and grace period expired did I find dentist did not accept PPO but instead a higher costs plan. When questioning and appealing this, two supervisors noted those calls can be accessed. Then after being stonewalled on this, the call was DELETED! Filed complaints with Ohio Attorney General, CSD-0046356, and Better Business Bureau.

Their response was double talk and even making up pre-estimates that I only received one after the grace period. Insurance through AARP which was not help in claim!

Delta Dental - ***

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I signed up in Sept. after selecting a dentist from their list, it was efcv. 10/01/16. Made an appt. 10/03/16 and found the dentist was not in the network and I rcvd outside network benefits. They are not paying for anything. Called and notified one of their reps that at the time of enrollment; the dentist was on the list; she informed me, "well he's not now" and you will receive outside network benefits. I told her I wanted to cancel and she informed me that I would still have to pay for the 12 months I signed up for. They are *** and the customer service reps have an attitude.

Poor cust svc & not as described. How can a dentist be in ntwk at enrollment & out after you enroll.

Preferred solution: Cancellation. Do not want to do business with a company I cannot trust. The dentist was on the selection list when I enrolled. After enrollment he's out of network and I am hooked for 12 months. This is totally unethical.

Horrible and Incompetent Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had to sign up again for Delta Dental in 2016 as they dropped the plan I had been on for several years (the current plan is more expensive with less coverage). I submitted my application three times and talked with several employees on the phone but I still didn't have coverage after three months. They finally gave my family coverage, and then in the next month, told my dentist that only I was insured and not my family (even though I had registered and paid for family coverage). After a few more months of complete frustration with the inability of anyone at Delta dental to effectively do anything, I dropped their coverage by paying for my bank to block any further monthly payments from being paid to Delta Dental. I also sent DD a letter requesting they send me written confirmation I am dropped from their coverage. So far, I have not received that letter. No surprise.
